All classes will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Birmingham on West Valley Ave. in Homewood.  If there is just one couple,  it is often best if they can be held at the couple’s home.   Classes will be held the last Saturday of each month.  They are form 1-4.  The cost for the class is $65.  Doula clients receive a 15% discount on the class.  Non-doula clients receive a free home visit after baby arrives.

Though breastfeeding is a normal, natural act, in our culture we do not get the chance to see other women doing it.  Therefore breastfeeding is somewhat mysterious and seems more complicated than it is.  Though we do not pass on the art of breastfeeding from woman to woman in the community, we can still learn in a supportive, caring environment.

Breastfeeding is one of the most rewarding and wonderful things you can do as a parent.   I hope that you will consider learning more so that you can feel confident going into your breastfeeding relationship.
